The team is a flexible concept. Team members will come and go for a variety of reasons ranging from visa restraints to injuries. Being such a long term project the journey requires a flexible approach to team members as with routes. Some past team members will return at later dates and new members bring fresh approaches new energy in a continuing kolidascope of charators and stories.
"For five years I have dreamed of a camel journey from Mongolia to Europe and feel I can finally accomplish that dream."
Originally from Ulaangom and now living in Ulaanbaatar, Baigalmaa (Baikal) was born in the western part of Mongolia to a nomadic family. Being born in one of the most wild and remote parts of Mongolia, she has grown to love adventure and her natural surroundings. She is an avid mountain climber and has ascended almost all the peaks in Mongolia, including some abroad, like Mt. Elbruys and Mt. Kilimanjaro.
For over ten years, together with her husband, Baikal has taken tourists on expeditions by horses, camels and on foot throughout Mongolia. She has a passion for sharing her culture and the steppes of her home country and has felt lucky to do so through her business, Off-road Mongolia. She is a member of the Mountaineering Association, the mountain biking club and the Mongolian sky-running association.
Baikal has traveled all over Mongolia and brings her experience of her native culture into this expedition, ensuring that traditions are honoured and shared among the group.
